Introduction from David

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor with 19 years of experience working across crisis facilities, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, and telehealth settings. Throughout my career, I have worked with a diverse range of teens, adults, couples, and families navigating challenges such as crisis, addiction, mood disorders, trauma, and relationship difficulties.

My approach to therapy is non-dogmatic and individualized. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic approaches, integrating these perspectives based on your needs and goals rather than trying to fit you into a particular model.

I believe therapy should begin with understanding what you are hoping to achieve. I will listen carefully, offer perspective, and actively collaborate with you, drawing on my clinical experience and knowledge. At the same time, you remain an active participant in the process. We will move at a pace that feels appropriate for you and work together toward the goals you define.

I take the decision to enter therapy seriously. Reaching out for help can require courage and vulnerability, and I want you to feel that those risks are met with respect, honesty, and genuine care. While I am committed to maintaining professionalism and providing thoughtful clinical guidance, I also believe therapy can include humor, warmth, and moments of levity. I consider myself personable, approachable, and down-to-earth.

Most importantly, I want you to feel seen, understood, and respected. Therapy is a relationship, and I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship creates the foundation for meaningful change. My goal is to work alongside you as you develop greater insight, resilience, and the ability to move toward the life and relationships you want.
